The facility provides end-to-end capabilities—from microscale fabrication to system-level integration—supporting applications in industrial monitoring, energy systems, defense, and environmental sensing.

MEMS Fabrication

Our cleanroom and microfabrication lab are equipped for full-cycle MEMS development, including:

  • Thin film electrodeposition of functional magnetic and magnetostrictive materials

  • Photolithography and lithographic mask development

  • Multigeometry resonator fabrication and release techniques

  • Surface functionalization for gas detection and environmental interaction

  • Process calibration for frequency tuning and resonator fidelity.

Antenna and RF Engineering

To ensure reliable wireless operation across various environments, our antenna and RF lab supports:

  • Near-field antenna design for low-frequency magnetic coupling

  • Prototyping of custom inductive pickup coils

  • Impedance matching and RF circuit tuning

  • Environmental robustness testing, including operation near metal surfaces and in confined spaces

  • Characterization of read range performance up to 15 feet

PCB Design and Electronics Prototyping

Our electronics lab is equipped to support circuit design, PCB assembly, and embedded integration:

  • Development of low-noise analog front-ends and signal amplification circuits

  • Embedded system prototyping with microcontrollers, ADCs, DDS chips, and interface modules

  • Surface-mount soldering, hot air rework, and solder reflow capabilities

  • Rapid PCB prototyping using CNC milling or chemical etching

  • Digital control systems for frequency generation, data acquisition, and sensor interrogation

Signal Processing and System Integration

We offer in-house expertise and tools for developing sensor systems from core devices to full IoT integration:

  • Signal analysis methods including FFT, frequency counting, phase-locked loops, and impedance spectroscopy

  • Firmware and embedded software development for real-time data processing

  • Integration with industrial control platforms and third-party automation tools

  • Local and cloud-based data communication architectures

  • Secure interface design for remote sensing and monitoring applications

Testing, Characterization, and Calibration

The facility is designed for rigorous sensor validation and performance optimization:

  • Magnetic biasing systems including Helmholtz coils for calibration and resonance control

  • Frequency response measurement using network analyzers and time-domain equipment

  • Environmental test setups for exposure to gases such as hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide, and methane

  • Resonator testing for amplitude and frequency response under varying stimuli

  • Multi-tag or multi-sensor testing for systems with overlapping signal domains
